This Department of Alabama shell jacket is done in a "Taupe-on-Brown" jean wool. Common in the central area of the Confederacy, this jacket comes in a nice tan/butternut shade. Five brass block "I" infantry buttons adorn the front, with an outer slash pocket on the left breast, and one inner pocket. The collar is trimmed in a dark blue, and the cuffs left plain. Beautiful jacket at a great price! Fully lined in a muslin cotton.  All outer top stitching, as well as all button holes are HAND STITCHED!  Check out the detail in the close up pictures.
